HAH Library is open most Saturdays from 10am to 1pm. and some weekdays. We also check out books after our monthly lecture. Volunteers are welcome to help on any of our open days. ________
Monthly Lectures are held in the hall of the Community House. We welcome volunteers to set up the audio visual equipment. _______ We also need one or two persons to help check in members at the door. ______
Roundtable Discussion We study a specific area of horticulture, a family of plants and other gardening related issues on the third Saturday of the month from 10am until noon from October through March. Volunteers are needed to suggest topics and briefly report on them. _______
Horticultural Education In the autumn we offer grade school children a free amaryllis planting workshop at local libraries where they plant bulbs for the holidays. Volunteers are needed for approximately one and one-half hours to assist with each project. You can choose the library closest to where you live. _______
Friends of the Garden A group of volunteers meets every 4 weeks for two hours from April to November to maintain the HAH garden outside our headquarters. We plant, weed, mulch, prune, etc. All levels of expertise are welcome. Join us! _______
Plant Exchange We encourage you to share divisions and “extras”. We sell these plants at some of our monthly meetings and proceeds help us maintain our library. We could use help with setting up before lectures and selling the items. _______
Hospitality Refreshments are served after every monthly lecture. Would you like to place your name on the list to bring cookies or cake? _______
Garden Tours During the warmer weather, tours are held approximately once a month. Would you like to open your garden for a tour? _______
Garden Fair and Preview Party This is our most important fundraiser of the year. We encourage everyone to assist in some way. There are many ways in which you could help, such as:
_______ Are you a plant expert who might help others with their choice of plants?
_______ Would you help set up the area on Thursday or Friday morning?
_______ Would you like to be a cashier or check out plants on Friday night or Saturday?
_______ Would you be willing to help with clean-up on Saturday afternoon?
